What cake should I make for my little sisters ninth birthday?
My little sisters birthday is next week and I want to bake her something that she'll really like and her and her friends will think it's great. She'll be nine and she like animal and the colour pink. Any ideas on what to make her?

- a pink elephant? the pink panther? xD what sort of things does she like, what's her -favourite- animal? i'm sure that anything you make her she'll love, since you're her sister. (:
- chocklate cake or yellow cake with some cinamon and some chocklate chips
- You could make her a strawberry cake. Or, you could put some red food coloring in a vanilla cake batter until it turns pink. Then put some vanilla frosting, doing the same thing as with the batter, and spread that around. Then in red frosting, put "Happy Birthday Sis" or something like that... :)
- how about baking and decorating a cake that would be a lady bug. bake your sisters favorite flavore of cake in an oven safe bowl, turn it out and allow to cool. then do the lady bug in red icing, non peril chocoalte candies for the circles and some licrice for the antenna and face.
- This should be perfect! And you can decorate it with those Circus Animal cookies (the animal crackers that are covered with pink & white frosting with sprinkles - in the pink & white bag at the grocery) JELLO POKE CAKE i box white cake mix (could even use strawberry cake mix) 1 3-oz. box strawberry jello 1 8-oz. carton Cool Whip (thawed) - they even make strawberry now Bake cake according to package directions in 9x13" pan. While cake is cooling in pan, poke holes all over it with a large fork. Mix jello according to package directions. Drizzle jello liquid over cake (make sure it penetrates all the holes). Chill several hours or overnight. Frost chilled cake with thawed Cool Whip
- How about a confetti cake with white frosting? Decorate with little candy animals and write "Happy Birthday" using pink icing. Or use animal crackers and stand them up like a circus on the cake.
- How about cupcakes with pink frosting on top and then you could get some frosted animal crackers and put on on each cupcake!!
- bake a cake that has a tv character that she likes on it
- You've gotta give this a try. It's so cute, it's a mermaid cake. http://jas.familyfun.go.com/recipefinder/display?id=50165 You're very good to do something nice like that for your sister. I wish mine would've done that!!! Good luck.
- It was my sister's birthday yesterday and we made her a cake shaped into a fox's face. She loved it so much and doesn't want to eat it lol.. but at least she appreciates it heh. Why not find out your sister's favourite animal? I'm sure she'd love that! Have fun xD
- When I was a kid, whoever had a birthday could choose what kind of cake to have. I always chose either chocolate with chocolate frosting or more rarely, angel food cake with chocolate frosting. I chose either chocolate ice cream or Neapolitan or strawberry or banana. Banana cake with chocolate frosting sounds pretty good to me now. In any case, why not ask her what kind of cake she wants & let her help make it? As for the style, see what kind of mold is available & what is easiest. If you had a jungle theme, banana cake with chocolate or banana frosting could have some kind of plastic flat animals stuck to the sides. Then you won't have to deal with a mold at all. Zebras, elephants, & monkeys are cool. Maybe there are jungle animal cookie cutters for making cookies in addition to cake. Kids usually like using cookie cutters. Now I really am adding to your work! Pink or perhaps lavender could be used for the lettering on top, along with some exotic tropical looking flowers. Maybe there would be a coordinating jungle print or floral or zebra striped table cloth & striped or animal style candle holders. I'd go for a plastic tablecloth or clear plastic over cloth for anything involving chocolate. Ask her what she thinks about that whole idea. A nearby health food store has a stuffed monkey holding bananas next to the banana counter. Adorable. The main thing would be making it look like it's for a 9-yr-old and not for a preschooler. Maybe each step of the way she will tell you if something is too babyish. Possibly, go with jungle flowers & leaves & just an animal here & there. Think exotic, not preschool. There's a fine line, so good luck. Have fun! What a great sister you are.
