- you either expsosed them to more light, its genetic, or used more dye on the roots.
- I assume because the rest of her hair has already been colored. Dye takes to virgin hair stronger than hair that has already gone through a chemical process. I am surprised that it happened with a 10vol, and I am not sure if you are lightening or darkening her hair...if you add more info you will get better answers. For next time try a filler on the rest of her hair, just run the color through the shaft for the last 10 mins, or use a semi permanent color from the shafts to the ends.
- You are supposed to do the roots last.
- I am a LICENSED HAIR stylist, therefore I am the BEST SOURCE the temperature of the body plays a role and therefore increases the intensity of the peroxide used. next time try doing the middle of the hair shaft first with the ten then the ends and roots after using a 5 volume, using half peroxide 10 volume and half water that would give you a 5 volume or simply use some daily shampoo that also works hope this helps
- Hi!! What has happened is that your sister's roots or new growth area is what is called virgin hair, meaning that it doesn't have any color on it. So what happened is that she now has what is called "hot roots". The reason being is that she already had color on the ends of her hair, and when you put the other color all over the color "grabbed" darker on the ends. Next time, try doing her new growth area only first for about 20 minutes, then pull the color thru the ends for only 5-10 minutes. Good luck!!
- if the roots came up lighter than the ends , I would say that the ends had prior color on them and the roots was virgin hair.
